Wanted: Dead is a new hybrid slasher/shooter from the creators of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive. You play as lieutenant Hannah Stone with help from the Zombie Unit, an elite Hong Kong police squad as you slash and shoot through mercenaries, gang members and private military contractors.
Gameplay
Wanted: Dead combines the best aspects of a third person shooter and slasher including a cover system and button combination attacks. If you fill up your adrenaline gauge your character performs slow motion shots to surrounding enemies with her pistol. There’s a handful weapons to use throughout your play and there’s over 50 unique deadly finishers. The enemies could feel repetitive and like bullet sponges at times.
Skill Tree
You earn skill points through out the game from killing enemies and finding collectibles across the level. With those points you can unlock different abilities in a 3 tier tree system. Offense, Defense and Utility.
Weapon Customization
You unlock new parts to your primary and secondary gun by advancing in the game. You can customize your weapon by walking under the drone and clicking the right stick.
Practice
A training mode and shooting range are available if you want to practice your skills.
Wanted: Dead Steam Deck Performance
I had trouble getting a stable 60fps so I aimed to get something close to a solid 40fps. I used CryoUtilities and Steam Deck performance frame limit & refresh rate set to 40fps with my in game settings and it got me mostly 40fps with occasional drops to the low 30’s when encountering a large group of enemies with explosions or during cutscenes. This is definitely a playable experience with potential to be a go to Steam Deck game.
